Telehealth Dietitian Appointments Australia-Wide
You do not need to live near one of our Sydney medical centres, including our main North Sydney clinic, to work with a Body Fusion dietitian. Through secure telehealth video consultations, our Accredited Practising Dietitians support clients right across Australia, with the same personalised, evidence-based care you would receive in person.
Whether you are in a regional town, juggling a busy schedule, or simply prefer the comfort of home, telehealth makes expert nutrition support easier to access.

Expert Nutrition Supports From Wherever You Are
Telehealth is not a lesser version of seeing a dietitian. Your appointment runs much like an in-clinic session: your dietitian takes a detailed history, talks through your goals and works with you to build a practical, personalised plan. The main difference is that you join by video from home, work or wherever suits you.
Every clinician at Body Fusion is an Accredited Practising Dietitian credentialled with Dietitians Australia, the nutrition credential recognised by Medicare and most private health funds. That standard of care applies whether you see us in person or online.
A plan built around how you actually live.

Medicare and Private Health
Rebates for Telehealth.
No referral is needed to book a private telehealth appointment. Eligible clients managing a chronic condition may be able to access Medicare rebates for dietitian telehealth through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan from their GP, and eligible clients may access an Eating Disorder Plan where appropriate.
Many private health funds also offer rebates for dietitian consultations under extras cover, and some extend this to telehealth. Eligibility and rebate amounts vary, so your GP and your health fund are the best people to confirm what applies to you.
What You Need
Getting set up for telehealth is simple. You will need a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private, quiet space for your appointment.
If you have any recent test results, food diaries or referral documents, having them handy can help, though your dietitian will let you know what is useful beforehand.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions we hear from clients considering working with a dietitian on their weight.
For most people and most services, telehealth is an effective way to work with a dietitian. Your appointment covers the same detailed history, discussion and personalised planning as an in-clinic visit. Some situations may benefit from an in-person appointment, and your dietitian will let you know if that applies to you.
No. You can book a private telehealth appointment without a referral. A referral is only needed if you would like to access Medicare rebates, which are available to eligible clients through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan or, in some cases, an Eating Disorder Plan from your GP.
Eligible clients with a chronic condition may access Medicare rebates for dietitian telehealth through a CDM Plan from their GP. Many private health funds also offer rebates for dietitian consultations under extras cover, and some extend this to telehealth. Eligibility and rebate amounts vary, so it is best to check with your GP and your health fund to confirm your level of cover.
Our telehealth appointments are available Australia-wide, so you can see a Body Fusion dietitian from anywhere in the country with an internet connection. This makes ongoing support easy to access for clients in regional and rural areas, as well as those in other cities.
You need a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a private space for your appointment. We send a secure video link ahead of time, and you do not need any special software beyond what your device already has or a simple app we will guide you to.
