A clear, supported pathway

How we work with your family.

From your first appointment through to ongoing care as your child
grows.

1

Parents central

Initial Consultation

Your paediatric dietitian takes a detailed history of your child's feeding, growth, medical background, family meal patterns and the day-to-day picture at home. Parents are central. Children are welcome in whatever way feels comfortable.

2

Practical plan

Family-Friendly Nutrition Plan

You leave with a clear, practical plan tailored to your child and your family — strategies for fussy eating, mealtime structure, food variety, condition-specific guidance, and realistic ideas for home, school and on the go.

3

Grows with your child

Ongoing Support as Your Child Grows

Children's nutritional needs change quickly. Follow-up sessions help us refine the plan as your child develops, troubleshoot the parts that feel hard, and adjust as new situations come up — starting school, sport, puberty and beyond.

Frequently asked

Paediatric
Questions.

Common questions we hear from parents and
carers considering paediatric nutrition support
for their child.

What age children do you see?

We see children across the full paediatric range, from infants to adolescents. The structure of the appointment is adjusted to suit your child’s age, developmental stage and personality.

Yes, parents and carers are central to paediatric appointments. For younger children, much of the conversation happens with you while your child is welcome in the room in whatever way feels comfortable. For older children and adolescents, we balance time directly with your child and time with parents, with the child’s voice central to the conversation.

Yes. Fussy and selective eating is one of the most common reasons parents come to see us. We use calm, pressure-free, evidence-based strategies to help expand food variety, ease mealtime stress and build a more positive relationship with food over time. Where sensory or feeding-skill difficulties are a significant driver, we will let you know when a referral to an OT or speech pathologist might be helpful too.

Yes. We provide ongoing nutrition support for children with type 1 diabetes, coeliac disease, IBD, food allergies, reflux, constipation and other diet-related chronic conditions, working alongside your paediatrician or GP as part of broader care.

Eligible children with chronic conditions may be able to access Medicare rebates through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan from their GP. Many private health funds also offer rebates for dietitian consultations under extras cover. Your GP and your health fund are the best sources to confirm what is available to you.

Yes. We regularly collaborate with paediatricians, GPs, allergists, OTs, speech pathologists and other allied health providers, with your consent, so the team around your child is aligned on goals and progress.
